Thai PM pledges full support for foreign investment

BANGKOK, March 23 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has assured a leading US chemical company that her government has fully supported foreign businesses in the country. Yingluck reiterated the Thai government's policy when President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Dow Chemical Company Andrew Liveris paid a courtesy call on her at Bangkok's Government House on Thursday. The Puea Thai premier praised the American multinational chemical corporation’s 45-year business operation in Thailand and insisted that the Thai government has fully supported international corporations in investing and expanding their businesses in Thailand. Liveris expressed his appreciation to Thailand for overcoming troubles over the past several years, including domestic political turmoil and inundations, and to the country's younger generations for their creative thinking and valuable skills as shown by the his company’s Thai employees. Leveris also invited the Thai prime minister to visit the United States to further learn on eco-friendly technologies, which have been steadily developed, and to explore ways to utilize the advance technologies in Thailand.
