THAI welcomes first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner

BANGKOK, September 19 (TNA) - Thai Airways International (THAI), the national flag carrier, welcomes the first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft it has acquired and will receive the second one next month. Acting THAI President Usanee Saengsingkaew (อุษณีย์ แสงสิงแก้ว) told journalists of the update, acknowledging that the first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, which arrived in Bangkok on September 17, has been royally named "Phatthana Nikhom” via a special flight TG8909. Usanee said the first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft will initially serve THAI passengers on two domestic routes, including the Bangkok-Chiang Mai and the Bangkok Phuket routes and vice versa, during September 23-30. According to the acting THAI president, the first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner plane will then serve THAI passengers on the Bangkok-Singapore route and vice versa during October 1-November 15, after the national airline has received its second Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft next month. The acting THAI president noted that both of the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner planes will then serve THAI passengers on the Bangkok-Auckland and the Bangkok-Taipei routes and vice versa as of November 16.
