Thailand confident to address aviation issues

BANGKOK, October 1 (TNA) - The Ministry of Transport is confident that Thailand will be able to address aviation issues in due course. New Permanent Secretary for Transport Chartchai Tipsunave expressed the confidence on Thursday. Chartchai said that officials of the United States' Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will re-inspect aviation safety standards in Thailand on October 26, 2015, followed by those of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) in the near future. The Ministry of Transport is confident that ICAO would not downgrade Thailand's aviation industry to category 2, from category 1. On June 18, 2015, ICAO imposed a red-flag sign on the Thai aviation industry for some safety concerns over Thai commercial airlines and hazardous cargo transport. (TNA)
