Thailand enlisted world top-10 seafood exporters

BANGKOK, June 8 (TNA) - The Thai Frozen Foods Association (TFFA) says that Thailand is now among the world’s top 10 producers and exporters of seafood products. According to a TFFA report, disseminated on Friday, Thailand has now produced about 570,000 metric tonnes of both fresh and frozen seafood products annually, a 50 per cent increase from 10 years earlier. The TFFA reported that Thailand's seafood exports are currently valued at some 5 billion US dollars, with the United States and Japan being two largest importers of Thai seafood products, and that most of Thai seafood exports are shrimps. The TFFA acknowledged that, currently, Thailand is the world's second largest shrimp producer, after China.(TNA)
