Thailand goods prices to be frozen until end-Nov

BANGKOK, June 15 (TNA) - Goods manufacturers and traders across Thailand have agreed to maintain prices of at least 205 essential goods for another six months until end-November, to mitigate the rising cost of living, in line with the ruling National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) policy. Srirat Rastapana, permanent secretary for Commerce, said the agreement was made recently at a meeting of commerce officials, manufacturers and mall owners. Srirat said prices of essential commodities would be frozen within a short-term period but would eventually be adjusted to meet market valuation because some products need imported raw materials for production. If the raw material prices increase, product prices will too increase. (TNA)
