Thailand to host “ASEAN Logistics & Purchasing Expo 2018”

BANGKOK, November 14 (TNA) - The Thai government, through the Ministry of Transport, will host the “ASEAN Logistics & Purchasing Expo 2018” at the IMPACT Trade and Exhibition Center in Muang Thong Thani on the outskirts of Bangkok during February 1-3, 2018, in which Thai operators of the logistics business from both the public and private sectors will participate, along with those from other member countries of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) and China. Sanit Promwong, Director-General of the ministry's Department of Land Transport, told journalists on Tuesday that the three-day event will be a regional platform for the relevant parties to exchange their technical experiences in the logistics business. Besides, the participants can hold their trade and investment negotiations, leading to their expanding business opportunities and networks in the region. Sanit noted that his department has complied with the Ministry of Transport's policies and approaches on the further development of Thailand's transport standards through many aspects to be in line with the government's Thailand 4.0 Policy on the logistics industry and to enhance the country's competitiveness, paving the way for the Thai economy to become a logistics hub in AEC in the future.
