The "Roadshow EEC" event, led by EEC Office Secretary-General Kanit Sangsubhan, is supported by Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Limited (ICBC) based on a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed by the ICBC and the EEC Office in May 2017. During the "Roadshow EEC" event, a Thai team, whose members comprise of those from the EEC Office and other Thai relevant agencies including the Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI), CAT Telecom Public Company Limited (CAT) and Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA), presents the Thai government's plans on developing the EEC in the long run and on providing incentives to international investors in the EEC and EECd to over 200 Chinese business leaders in Shanghai and Hangzhou, the latter of which is also recognized as the Chinese Silicon Valley. The Chinese business leaders are, thus, invited to invest in the EEC and the EECd and convinced that the Thai government is concretely developing the EEC and the EECd seriously, witnessed by its mega-investment on the development of infrastructure projects to cater for growing industries in the eastern Thai zone, where eco-cities are also promoted for the ecological conservation. Besides, the Thai government is reviewing and revising its regulations to provide more incentives and facilitations to international investors in the EEC and the EECd. Meanwhile, ICBC, with its global networks, also plays a key role in providing its financial support to Chinese business firms wanting to invest in Thailand's EEC and the EECd. Apart from organizing the "Roadshow EEC" event, the Thai delegation is also scheduled to meet representatives of other leading Chinese companies, including those of the Alibaba Group and Honeywell Multinational Conglomerate.
