Thailand to produce more research projects for sustainable development

BANGKOK, July 19 (TNA) - The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has agreed to work together with an independent institute to produce research projects for the further national socio-economic development on the sustainable basis. SET President Pakorn Peetathawatchai told journalists on Friday a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that SET has signed with the newly-set up institute for public policy and development will not only benefit the Thai society, but also support the sustainable growth of the domestic business sector. Pakorn stated that under the MOU, SET will also exchange knowledge, information and personnel, as well as work together and jointly use a big database with the independent institute to achieve the goal of the co-mission. Dr. Sorapop Kiatpongsan, who heads the independent institute, said, meanwhile, that first research projects under the MOU will be emphasized on those aimed to develop practical saving and investment skills in many dimensions for people and business operators, including those running listed firms on the Thai bourse, for the sake of the country's sustainable socio-economic development eventually.
