Thailand promotes "innovation ecosystem"

BANGKOK, June 12 (TNA) - Allied Thai private agencies have collaborated to organize the “SingularityU Thailand Summit 2018”, the first of its kind in Southeast Asia, aimed to promote the so-called "innovation ecosystem" in Thailand and in the region. Ananda Development Public Company Limited and Muang Thai Life Assurance Public Company Limited jointly organized an event in Bangkok on June 11 to introduce the “SingularityU Thailand Summit 2018”, set to be held in the InterContinental Bangkok Hotel during June 19-20, in which world leaders of advanced technologies and innovations will participate to share their knowledge and experiences on how the "innovation ecosystem", if sustainably developed, could support and stimulate a frog-leap, or an exponential, economic growth in any targeted economy or region in the digital world currently. Chanond Ruangkritya, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), of Ananda Development Public Company Limited, told the event that Thailand has already become a part of the world changing situation, in which advanced technologies and innovations bring about impacts to the life of people in all dimensions. Chanond cited the increasingly adoption of the artificial intelligence (AI) through sophisticated robots, as well as the augmented reality (AR) and the virtual reality (VR) into people's life in the present digital era as examples. Chanond said many updated surveys have found that by 2033, computer sets could be as intelligently-smart as humans and AI-robots could even be smarter than combined humans in the entire globe, suggesting that all parties in Thailand acceleratingly keep pace with the global fast changing situation. Chanond raised Alibaba Group Holding Limited, China-based multinational e-commerce, retail, Internet, AI and technology conglomerate, as another example, noting that the Chinese online business giant has taken only a few years to pile up its assets to over one billion US dollars, emerging as an arch competitor of those established for more than a century. Sara Lamsam, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Muang Thai Life Assurance Public Company Limited, acknowledged, meanwhile, that both technology-based and non-technology based (Tech and Non-Tech) innovations can both meet changing consumers' demands in the present digital era. Sara revealed that his company has also established its Fuchsia Innovation Center, in which innovative insurance products and services are developed and introduced, as his company's preparations for the new global digital world. Sara proposed that the Thai private and the public sectors work together and share information for the sake of their connection, joint future solutions to problems and exponential development and growth of the national economy in the long run from their combined "workforce of the future".
