Thailand remains top rice exporter in Asia

BANGKOK, October 27 (TNA) - Thailand remains the top rice exporter in Asia this year and eyes to regain its position as the world's top rice exporting country by next year. Prime Minister General Prayut Cha-ocha told journalists on Monday that that Thailand's rice situation remains good, as the country has maintained its status as the largest rice exporter in Asia. General Prayut foresaw that Thailand could become the world's largest rice exporter next year. According to the prime minister, his government has asked farmers to limit their second rice crop, but quality rice from the first crop could meet demand of overseas markets. (TNA)
