Thailand seriously solves human trafficking-related problems

BANGKOK, July 6 (TNA) - The Thai government has seriously implemented measures to address human trafficking-related problems. Thai Industry Minister Chakramon Pasukvanich told journalists on Monday that he informed US Charge d'Affaires to Thailand W. Patrick Murphy of the stance at their meeting in Bangkok earlier in the day. Chakramon acknowledged that the United States is very interested in how Thailand has done to solve human trafficking-related issues in the country and he assured the US charge d'affaires of the Thai government's serious moves to solve the problems, including law amendments and strict law enforcement, covering those against Rohingya and women trafficking, as well as migrant workers in the local fishery industry. Chakramon said he also told the US charge d'affaires that Thailand has cracked down on many leaders of human trafficking rings. According to the minister, he also asked for the United States' understanding about the interim Thai government's determination to lay a strong foundation for the nation for the newly-elected Thai government in the near future, noting that there is difference between Western and Eastern philosophies, in which criticisms are of no avail.
