Thailand, South Korea are on Industry 4.0 path

BANGKOK, May 18 (TNA) – Thailand and South Korea are drafting a plan for their cooperation on the Industry 4.0 in Thailand. Paik Ungyu, South Korean Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, discussed the cooperation and South Korean investment in Thailand with Industry Minister Uttama Savanayana. Mr Uttama said both countries were working seriously on the Industry 4.0 so they should cooperate closer. They would form a joint working group to draft the Industry 4.0 cooperation and the Eastern Economic Corridor would be a main target, he said. The cooperation plan would be completed in two weeks and cover cooperation in short, medium and long terms. Apart from the EEC, the cooperation would also focus on human resources development in response to the Industry 4.0 and the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, Mr Uttama said. South Korea would also support the industries that Thailand wanted to develop including electric vehicles, robots, automation, smart cities, smart electronics, bioeconomy, the industry minister said.
