Thailand's Audit Commission gears up to examine 2015 mega investment projects’

BANGKOK, December 20 (TNA) - Thailand’s State Audit Commission has called on the public to help report on any suspicious irregularity in the government's mega investment projects, set to be implemented in 2015. State Audit Commissioner Suthipon Thaveechaiyagarn told reporters on Saturday that the Thai government has instructed his audit panel to examine its investment plans before their implementations to prevent losses, caused by any misconduct. Suthipon stated that his panel’s inspection will cover Term of Reference (TOR) and concessional procedures of the state investment plans. The chief commissioner called on people, officials and those in the private sector to help provide tip-offs of any misconduct of the investment plans to his audit panel through its hotline service. The chief commission also requested assistance from the Legal Execution Department and other audit firms to provide clues to misconduct in the projects, if any, saying his panel also plans to apply new technologies to improve its performance.
