Thailand's caretaker government to issue bond to pay for pledged rice

BANGKOK, February 22 (TNA) - Thailand's Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Kittirat Na-Ranong says that a conclusion is expected within 7-8 weeks on the sale of a newly-issued government bond, with its proceeds to be paid to farmers joining in the official rice-pledging programme. Kittirat told journalists, after Friday’s meeting with concerned agencies of the official rice-pledging scheme, that details on the new bond issurance are being studied. Kittirat expressed his confidence that the public, especially individual investors, will be interesting in buying the new bond to assist farmers.(TNA)
