Thailand's house buying in Q4 up

BANGKOK, October 20 (TNA) - Property developers believe the government’s campaigns to stimulate house buying by low and medium-income earners should jump during the current final quarter of this year. The campaigns have been kicked off since October 18 by the state-run Government Housing Bank (GHB), in which buyers of houses priced 3 million baht or less would receive loans of up to 3 million baht on a condition that the buyers each earn a monthly income of 30,000 baht. For those earning 10,000 baht a month can borrow up to 1 million baht under the programme, which GHB has initially set aside 10 billion baht loans for potential buyers. Because of huge public interest on the first day of the programme, GHB is considering to raise the total amount of loans it is offering. (TNA)
