TNB Bags Platinum At Global CSR Summit & Awards 2016

KUALA LUMPUR, April 30 (Bernama) -- Utility giant Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) won platinum in the CSR Leadership Award category at the Eigth Annual Global CSR Summit and Awards 2016 in Bali, Indonesia recently. The award honours TNB Chairman Leo Moggie's active participation in the company's corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes in education, environmental conservation and sustainability, as well as community development. Two TNB subsidiaries also bagged awards. "TNB's success shows the company is on the right track in promoting CSR and environmental sustainability activities in the region," the company said in a statement Saturday. TNB Research Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned TNB unit, won gold in the 'Best Environmental Excellence' category for its research, environmental conservation and the relocation and rescue of wildlife in the Hulu Terengganu hydro project. Another subsidiary, TNB Janamanjung Sdn Bhd, garnered gold in the 'Best Workplace Practices' category and silver for 'Best Environmental Excellence' for its concern for workers and the environment. -- BERNAMA
