Top 20 Startups Shortlisted For ASEAN's Next Great Idea Programme

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 22 (Bernama) -- Top 20 startups have been shortlisted from a pool of 417 applicants to take part in the ASEAN's Next Great Idea ideation lab at the MaGIC’s Campus in Cyberjaya. During the six-day programme which started Monday, the startups will learn how to develop three key aspects of their future business -- customer, product and market. The programme provides the handpicked participants with the opportunity to refine and conceptualise their revolutionary ideas and turning them into a reality. In a joint statement by MaGIC, Uber and Digi, MaGIC Chief Executive Officer Ashran Ghazi said under this programme, individuals were encouraged to come forward to develop their ideas. “The emergence of new ideas is what keeps our entrepreneurship ecosystem growing. "We are excited to welcome the participants to our campus and encourage everybody to exchange ideas, give constructive feedback, engage our mentors, as well as reap the full benefit from the ASEAN’s Next Great Idea lab,” he added. The ASEAN’s Next Great Idea, an initiative co-organised by the Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre (MaGIC), Uber, and Digi, kicked off its ideation lab Monday. The lab will also provide participants with direct access to the best resources in the ecosystem: MaGIC’s expertise in building entrepreneurs, Uber’s real world experiences, and Digi Incub8’s strength in startup strategy. All these will help the entrepreneurs to fine-tune their ideas or concepts and create a working prototype, preparing them for the next stage of seed investment and funding. -- BERNAMA
