TPSO:There have been no irregular imports to Thailand

BANGKOK, May 24 (TNA) - The Office of Trade Policy and Strategy Office (TPSO), under the Thai Ministry of Commerce, reports that there have been no irregular imports to the Thai economy due to the escalating trade war between the United States and China. TPSO Director-General Pimchanok Vonkorpon confirmed on Friday that her office has, so far, found no dumping of imported goods, caused by the ongoing tit-for-tat trade protectionist measures between the immense Chinese and the US economies. Pimchanok told journalists that her ministry will closely keep monitoring products imported into the Thai economy, particularly those being directly affected by the escalating trade war between Washington and Beijing, including steel and aluminium products, electronic and electrical appliances, electric machines, copper and chemical products, clothes and textile products, as well as footwear. Meanwhile, the senior official acknowledged there are more than 725 items of Thai goods that should be exported more to the US market, worth 0.2-1 billion US dollars, amid the ongoing trade war between the two major trading partners, including food and ingredients, household products, clothes, sportswear and footwear, as well as gems and jewerly, thanks to the good quality of the Thai products.
