Train ticket sales go online next month

BANGKOK, Jan 30 (TNA) – The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) will launch the e-ticket system for passengers to book and buy train tickets online on February 1. SRT governor, Wuthichart Kalyanamitra today told a news conference about the plan to implement the e-ticket system on its website to upgrade the national railway to the internal standard. Online train tickets are available for adults at full prices and children at half prices for three routes of commercial trains to the north, the northeast and the south excluding free trains and tourist trains. The payment can be made by credit cards and debit cards and online booking can be made 60 days in advance. Users can select the seats and print the tickets to carry with them on the date of travel. Cancellation can also be made online via the SRT website or at all train stations. (TNA)
