Turkey increases assistance to foreign countries

ANKARA (A.A) - November 9, 2011 - Despite global economic crisis and negative financial condition in the world, Turkey increased the amount of the assistance it extended to underdeveloped and developing countries. Turkey sent an assistance worth of 967 million USD to these countries in 2010. When the assistance by private sector and non-governmental organizations are added, this figure reaches 1.7 billion USD. Turkey has extended 4.4 billion USD of assistance to several countries in Central Asia, Balkans, Africa and Middle East since 2005. Turkey's assistance to foreign countries rose 36 percent in 2010 when compared to 2009.
