Turkey Willing To Import More Gas From Iran : Minister

Ankara, Oct 6, IRNA – Oil Minister of Iran Rostam Qasemi said Saturday that Turkey is willing to increase gas imports from Iran. Talking to IRNA, Qasemi described his talks with Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz as good and constructive. Qasemi, who was accompanying First Vice-President Mohammad Reza Rahimi during his Ankara visit, said Tehran and Ankara enjoy growing relations due to religious, cultural and historical commonalities. He reiterated that the Islamic Republic of Iran is a main supplier of energy to Turkey which is a big energy consumer. Iran's oil minister said his talks with Turkish officials focused on transit of Iran's gas to Europe via Turkey. He added that gas transit would be a giant step towards progress in Iran's exports./end
