Turkish President to inspect construction progress on TANAP in Kars

Baku, June 2, AZERTAC Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is expected to inspect the progress of construction work on the Kars section of the Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline (TANAP) today. Turkish President Erdogan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili participated in the groundbreaking ceremony of TANAP in Selim, Kars province, this March. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2018 in order to start deliveries of gas from Shah Deniz-II to Europe. At the initial stage, the pipeline will transport an estimated 16 billion cubic meters of gas.
