The Turkish Stream project may be implemented within shortest period of time despite that fact that the respective intergovernmental agreement has not been signed yet, Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller said on Monday. "I should say that the Turkish Stream may be implemented within shortest period of time," he said. "The reason is that we’ve reached an agreement with our Turkish colleagues that the pipe via the Black Sea will be run in the same corridor as the South Stream," Miller said, adding that running of both routes coincides by almost two thirds. At the same time all examinations and preliminary work on the South Stream project have been done already. "That’s why the timeline of the Turkish Stream implementation may be very short," Gazprom CEO said. However, he refused to give exact timeline of the project’s implementation. "All depends on signing of the intergovernmental agreement," he said. Miller added that the project’s implementation will start after legally binding agreements are reached. "Today we’re speaking about the fact that it’s reasonable to consider construction of 2 lines /of the pipeline/ and that the pipeline’s capacity may total up to 32 bln cubic meters of gas per year," he said, adding that the plan is to supply gas via one of the lines only for the needs of the Turkish market .
