UK eyes investment in Thailand's Smart City

BANGKOK, September 29 (TNA) - Business operators from the United Kingdom are interested in investing in Thailand's Smart City Project launched in the southern resort Phuket Province. Deputy Prime Minister Air Chief Marshal Prachin Jantong told journalists of the information, after meeting with the United Kingdom's Ambassador to Thailand H.E. Brian John Davidson at Bangkok's Government House on Thursday. Air Chief Marshal Prachin said he was informed by the UK top envoy that UK business operators want to invest in new telecommunication development systems in Phuket, where the Thai Smart City Project was recently launched. The deputy premier revealed that parties concerned in the United Kingdom and Thailand will then work together on the new UK investment plans in Phuket. According to the deputy prime minister, the UK ambassador also expressed his country's readiness to support Thailand's 4.0 policy through technological transfer and shared experiences to help further develop the Thai agricultural sector. On the occasion, the deputy prime minister noted, the UK top envoy also invited Thai business operators to expand their investment projects in the United Kingdom. (TNA)
