United Engine Corporation, Inter RAO, Uralmash-Izhora propose investment projects to BRICS partners - First Deputy Economic Development Minister Likhachev

MOSCOW, June 6. /TASS/. Several largest Russian corporations, including United Engine Corporation, Inter RAO, Uralmash-Izhora (United Heavy Machinery Plants) proposed investment projects for implementation in the BRICS countries, First Deputy Economic Development Minister Alexey Likhachev said in an interview with TASS. He explained that all these projects were included in the "road map", developed within the framework of economic cooperation of the BRICS countries. The draft document is being discussed on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit; the event is taking place this week in Moscow and Ufa. According to Likhachev, the "road map" has projects proposed not only to the large companies but also small and medium-sized businesses. For example, Likhachev explained, En+ Group proposed creating the center for processing and storing large volumes of electronic data in the Irkutsk region. "It will allow Russian and foreign companies acquire available services for renting servers for safe storage of information," he said. Russia's United Engine Corporation has offered to produce gas pumping and power supply facilities in BRICS countries. "The United Engine Corporation plans along with its BRICS partners to produce and develop energy and gas pumping units at its industrial gas turbine engine plant. Negotiations with China are underway, but the company plans to expand the project to a multilateral format," Likhachev said. Uralmash-Izhora company (United Heavy Machinery Plants) proposes to build LNG plant in one of BRICS countries. For now negotiations are underway with partners in India. Likhachev mentioned the project of Almaz-Antey concern, which proposes to introduce new technology for improving flights safety and increasing passenger traffic in civil aviation. Read more
