Uzbek automobile industry starts producing mini- tractors

Tashkent, Uzbekistan, June 6 By Demir Azizov- Trend: Agromash Sanoat Invest LLC, the subsidiary of the Uzavtosanoat JSC (Uzavtoprom) has launched production of mini-tractors under the license of the Korean LS Mtron Ltd., the company's representative told Trend. Major industrial assembly of mini-tractors from LS Mtron car kits has been established at the base of Tashkent Tractor Plant under the brand name "TTZ LS". Plans are to localize production with the output of individual components and parts of tractors in subsequent years. Today, the first batch of 200 units of mechanism has been released, including universally-tilled and cotton-growing tractors of six modifications with the capacity ranging from 30 to 85 horsepower. In total, it is planned to produce about 1,000 machines in 2014. A strategic cooperation agreement has been signed between the Agromash Sanoat Invest LLC and LS Mtron Ltd in late 2013, which provides production of 24,570 mini-tractors under the license of LS Mtron in Uzbekistan over five years, Uzavtoprom said.The preliminary cost of the contract is estimated at $500 million. Agromash Sanoat Invest LLC was created in 2013 for the implementation of mini-tractors ` production project. The founders are "Uzavtoprom" JSC and "Uzselhozmashlizing" leasing joint-stock company with the shares of 80 percent and 20 percent respectively. "Uzagroprommashholding", uniting enterprises for agricultural mechanical engineering, was created in accordance with the decree of the Uzbek President Islam Karimov in May. "Tashkent Tractor Plant" JSC will be liquidated and on its basis "Tashkent factory of agricultural machinery" for the production of tractors, trailers and cotton pickers will be created.
