Vietnam calls for investment from Philippines

Hanoi, October 17 (VNA) - The Vietnamese Embassy in the Philippines is willing to act as a bridge to link educational establishments of Vietnam and the Philippine province of Cebu, said a diplomat. At a workshop on investment, trade, tourism and education promotion held in Cebu last week by the embassy, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Philippines Truong Trieu Duong highlighted the locality’s advantages in education, especially English training. He presented Vietnam’s socio-economic development and potential for cooperation in investment, tourism and education between the two sides. The ambassador suggested measures boosting tourism between Vietnam and Cebu and increasing the number of arrivals to those destinations. Participants were also briefed opportunities to team up with Vietnam and solutions for Cebu enterprises to expand operations in Vietnam. The Philippine side said they were keen on promoting investment, trade, tourism and education activities with Vietnam. Many participants expressed their hope for support from the Embassy. During his visit to Cebu, Ambassador Duong met Cebu Governor Hilario Davide III to discuss the possibility of cooperation between Vietnam and Cebu.-VNA
