Vietnam supports Thai investors, business expansion

BANGKOK, July 24 (TNA) - Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has pledged to fully support Thai investors in Vietnam in all fields and to promote trade and investment expansion between both countries. The Vietnamese leader gave the promise while inaugurating a seminar on trade and investment between Vietnam and Thailand, held at the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bangkok on Thursday. Delivering his speech at the opening session of the seminar, the Vietnamese prime minister, who led his Cabinet's members and his wife to pay a one-day official visit to Thailand on July 23, said that trade and investment relations between Vietnam and Thailand have been sound with anticipated further growing steadily. The Vietnamese leader acknowledged that Thailand is Vietnam’s fifth major trading partner and cooperation between Vietnam and Thailand is the highest among member countries in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The Vietnamese prime minister stressed that both Hanoi and Bangkok will continue expanding bilateral trade and investment, vowing Hanoi's readiness to support and facilitate Thai investors in Vietname in all sectors for their sustainable success, which also represents Vietnam’s success. More than 160 Vietnamese and Thai participants from both the public and private sectors attended Thursday's seminar, including concerned Vietnamese Cabinet's members, namely Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh, as well as Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister General Tanasak Patimapragorn, who met to welcome the Vietnamese leader and his entourage before the seminar, Thai Labour Minister General Surasak Kanchanarat and President of the Thailand-Vietnam Friendship Association Prachuab Chaisan.
