W Sulawesi Has More Than 17 Million Ton Zeolite Reserve

Mamuju, W.Sulawesi, Sept 26 (Antara) - The West Sulawesi province has large zeolite reserve amounting to 17,057,600 tons, Implementing Duty Officer of Energy and Mineral Resources Office of West Sulawesi Amri Eka Sakti said here Friday. He stated that the zeolite deposits are concentrated in the Messawa sub district in Mamasa district, and have tremendous mining potential. Zeolite reserve amounting to 26,400,000 ton were also found in Seppong village, Sendana sub district in Majene district. Amri expressed hope that investors would come forward to explore and exploit the mineral reserves and thus give a push to the local mining sector. Other potential minerals that can be found in Messawa are copper and zinc "The provincial administration welcomes every mining investor to explore these mineral reserves to improve the local economy," Amri said.
