Warsaw conference stresses advantages of Trans-Caspian international transport corridor

Baku, May 15, AZERTAC At the initiative of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Poland, with participation of the embassies of Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Georgia and organizational support of the Polish Chamber of Commerce, Warsaw hosted a conference titled "New International Transport Corridors" dedicated to the Trans-Caspian international transport corridor and the South-West transport corridor. Representatives of the ministries of entrepreneurship and technology, infrastructure, investments and development, foreign affairs and also the heads of "Polish State Railroads" JSC (PKP S.A.), as well as potential clients took part at the conference. Speaking at the conference, Andrzej Bittel, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Construction of Poland, noted special significance of the Trans-Caspian international transport corridor and the South-West transport corridor, emphasized the role of Azerbaijan in the work of transport corridors. Chairman of the Management Board of Polish State Railroads Joint-Stock Company (PKP S.A.) Krzysztof Mamiński spoke about advantages of the Trans- Caspian international transport corridor in transportation of goods from China to Europe and in the opposite direction. He brought to attention the main role of the Memorandum of understanding on strategic cooperation signed between Azerbaijan Railways and Polish State Railroads Joint-Stock Company in realization of the transport corridor South-West. The deputy CEO of "The Baku international Sea Trade Port" of Azerbaijan Vahid Aliyev informed on the work of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor and measures undertaken in Azerbaijan in this direction. Representatives of Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Georgia and also the management of PKP Cargo, PKP LHS emphasized importance of the Tran- Caspian international transport corridor and the transport corridor "South-West".
