WEF, Thailand to keep on working together

BANGKOK, July 12 (TNA) - Thailand, through the new administration, will continue to work together with the Switzerland-based World Economic Forum (WEF) towards the global economic system, in which all sectors can fairly participate with mutual benefits. Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha affirmed the Thai Kingdom's stance while meeting with visiting WEF Founder and Executive Chairman Klaus Schwab at Bangkok's Government House on Friday. During the meeting, both the visiting WEF top executive and the Thai prime minister discussed the stability of the world economy and impacts from trade wars, including an ongoing one between the immense Chinese and the US economies. Both sides also agreed to work together to deal with existing and emerging global challenges. The WEF top executive then praised the Thailand 4.0 Policy, which has raised up the Thai Kingdom's competitiveness in the WEF's latest ranking. The visiting WEF founder and top executive also pledged to support the new Thai government's major policies, including the close cooperation between the public and the private sectors to cope with the changing global situation. The WEF top executive then extended his best wishes to the new Thai government, also headed by Prime Minister General Prayut, to work smoothly and successfully. On the occasion, the visiting WEF founder and executive chairman invited the Thai prime minister to participate in the next global gathering of the WEF, the 50th of its kind, set to be held in Davos, Switzerland, in January 2020. Meanwhile, the Thai premier insisted on his new government's determination to work towards the national stability, security and sustainable socio-economic development, based on key strategic policies unchanged from his previous administration.
