Wilson Electronics Launches Signal Boosters For Indoor, Vehicle Usage

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 30 (Bernama) -- A leader in cellular signal products, Wilson Electronics, has launched two cellular signal boosters, particularly for indoor and vehicle usage. The North-American-based company has chosen Malaysia as its first point of entry into Asia to market the boosters under its new global brand name -- weBoost. President/chief executive officer, Bob van Buskirk, said Malaysia has a good regulatory environment and has similar second-generation (2G) and 3G products that were easy for the company to transfer its technologies. "Malaysia alone has about 40 million subscribers. The service operators here are open to our products because they do not interfere with their networks. "We also find that there were quite a lot of people that spent their time inside their vehicles and the fact that an average Malaysian spent about three hours a day for social media which were mostly accessed using mobile phones," he said at the weBoost Connect 3G and Drive 3G-S launch here Wednesday. Connect 3G is used to boost cellular signals from inside a building while the Drive 3G-S is used to strengthen cellular signals for vehicles, enabling better voice and data connection. van Buskirk said Asean would be its focus in expansion plan, with the next location is Indonesia. "With a proven track record of quality and performance for over 20 years, the company is optimistic that it could capture larger market for the Drive 3G-s product, although there were no specific target set for its sales," he said. The products will be available from mid-November and distributed by Digital Paper Sdn Bhd. --BERNAMA
