Young businesspeople invited to plan “New Economy”

NONTHABURI, Sept 21 (TNA) -- The Commerce Ministry, the Board of Trade of Thailand and the Federation of Thai Industries are inviting new businessmen to help plan the “New Economy” and implement national strategies related to economic development. Commerce Minister Sontirat Sontijirawong said his ministry launched the MOC Open House to New Innovative Entrepreneur Partnership (MOC Open House) project to invite new businessmen to help shape the future of Thai economy and trade. The ministry, the Board of Trade of Thailand, the Federation of Thai Industries and other parties selected new and potential businessmen aged up to 45 years to take part in planning the “New Economy” with the concept of “WE: Innovative Smart Entrepreneurship” (WISE) in accordance with the government’s 20-year national strategies. About 200 new businessmen selected by business organizations and 50 young government officials with creativity from the Commerce Ministry participate in the project. For the 20-year implementation of national strategies, the Commerce Ministry intends to promote international trade, develop the economy and local businessmen, and compile big data to support economic and investment policies. Participants in the project would have workshops to develop partnerships so that they could help one another realize the sustainable economic growth of the country, Mr Sontirat said. Outstanding participants would later be invited to help the Commerce Ministry formulate its policies. (TNA)
