Young entrepreneurs invited to join networking activities with peers from neighboring countries

BANGKOK, April 15 (TNA) -- The Department of Foreign Trade is inviting young entrepreneurs to join a two-month program to expand their networks to neighboring countries. Duangporn Rodphaya, director-general of the department, said that it was inviting young entrepreneurs aged not over 45 years old to join the second season of the Young Entrepreneur Network Development Program (YEN-D) from May 8 to July 15 this year. Participants will undergo training together with counterparts from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam for business matching and networking. Young government officials will also attend the program because they can help facilitate the entrepreneurs’ businesses, she said. The first YEN-D program happened from September to November last year and 240 entrepreneurs from Thailand and the neighboring countries already generated at least 1.5 billion baht worth their business value thanks to the activities in the program, Ms Duangporn said. The second season of the YEN-D program should raise the number of trained young entrepreneurs to 560 and double the business value, she said. Interested entrepreneurs can register for the program at the Department of Foreign Trade or contact it via the hotline number 1385. (TNA)
