‘HEAVEN TEMPLE’ AT BULGAN AIMAG RESTORED

Bulgan /MONTSAME/ The ‘Heaven temple’ located in the center of Bulgan soum of Bulgan aimag was restored and handed over to the state commission before the 80th anniversary of the establishment of aimag. With funding of MNT 156 million from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports the restoration and landscaping of the Heaven temple was done by ‘Zendmene suvarga’ LLC. The ‘Heaven’ or ‘Land of Happiness’ temple was initially established in 1876 on an artificial mountain and the great white stupa was constructed in 1904. The monastery was one of Mongolia's major religious centers which was comprised of 27 datsans (religious school), about 30 small temples and treasuries and having about 1500 monks. B.Misheel
