44th Int'l Roshd Film Festival starts in Golestan prov.

Gorgan, Nov 16, IRNA – The 44th International Scientific, Pedagogical and Educational Films dubbed as 'Roshd' as well as the 12th International Festival of Pupils Filmmakers kicked off here on Saturday afternoon in two cities of Gorgan and Gonbad Kavous. In the 44th Roshd International Film Festival, 55 films, including short films, documentaries, animations and movies from Iran, Japan, Iraq, Canada, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Turkey and Sweden will be displayed. The festival is held with the help of Farhangian University and will be displayed in 16 centers in the country. In the inauguration ceremony in Gorgan, director general of Golestan province branch of Education Ministry said that access to high level of humanity would be possible through education. Mohammad Reza Vatani said the festival is an instrument for educating the pupils, adding that in the festival art is serving education. Vatani continued that among the best ways to transfer values, concepts and beliefs of the countries to the new generation is through film, because art is very effective. He said that 1,200 works have reached to the festival and 208 works have been chosen for competition.
