44th Roshd Int’l Film Festival to screen foreign works

Tehran, Nov 11, IRNA - Works of foreign filmmakers and producers will be screened at the 44th Roshd International Film Festival, slated for November 14-21. Announcing this, the festival's secretary Saeed Bade’i added that films of 14 nations will be screened at the event which includes Germany, Spain, Estonia, the U.K. Italy, Ireland, Belgium, Russia, Switzerland, France, Canada, Guadeloupe, Martinique and the Netherlands. “A total of 1197 films from 40 countries were submitted to the festival’s secretariat of which 21 were related to foreign artists and the rest belonged to Iran. Only 209 films have been chosen for the competition section.” he noted. The opening ceremony of the event will be held on Nov. 14 in Tehran’s Palestine Cinema and the films will go on screen a day after. Roshd International Film Festival, as Iran’s oldest film event, focuses on films with educational and pedagogical themes./end
