ABU DHABI, 27th April, 2015 (WAM)-- The Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, ADIBF, is to feature three musical performances by regional artists in its 25th anniversary, from 7th to 13th May, at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, ADNEC. Organised by the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, the exhibition's visitors will be able to enjoy the superb sounds of a trio of traditional musicians as the perfect accompaniment to the more literary pursuits on offer. First, on May 8th, Egyptian folkloric ensemble Mazaher will thrill the crowds with a rare performance of traditional music. One of the rare musical styles in which women play a leading role, the music presented by Mazaher is inspired by three different styles of traditional music practiced in Egypt . Second, on May 11th, visitors will be treated to a performance by Gnawa ensemble, Boussou Ganga. Led by the Morroccan artist, Hassan Boussou, Boussou Ganga, one of the foremost masters of the Gnawa style in the world, will perform pieces from the traditional music which emerged with the African slaves brought to Morocco. Rounding off the musical marvels at this year’s event will be SherineTohamy, who will perform Oud music in homage to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan on 12th May. The Egyptian performer was the first female student to graduate from the Arab Oud House in Cairo and is famous for performing at the first International Oud festival in Egypt .
