Chibi Maruko Chan-Themed Celebration For Tokyo Street's 4th Anniversary

KUALA LUMPUR, July 29 (Bernama) -- The popular Japanese television series, Chibi Maruko Chan, has been selected as the theme for the fourth anniversary celebration of the Tokyo Street at the Kuala Lumpur's Pavilion shopping mall here. KL Pavilion Sdn Bhd Marketing Director Kung Suan Ai said the selection of series and its cute characters was in line with the concept of family ties and friendship, which will be translated in various interesting activities during the celebration, which began Wednesday until Aug 9. "This year, Tokyo Street's anniversary celebration features 'Chibi Maruko Chan Land' in which visitors can play Japanese traditional games such as 'wanage' (fishing gold fish using loops), fishing balls and many others," she told Bernama after the launch of Tokyo Street anniversary celebration by the Pavilion deputy president Cindy Lim. Also present were the Japan's Ambassador to Malaysia Dr Makio Miyagawa and Pavilion chief executive officer of retail Joyce Yap. Tokyo Street with Japanese ambience concept was established on July 29, 2012, providing more than 40 Japanese brands including women accessories, clothes, traditional food and daily necessities. --BERNAMA
