Exhibition devoted to Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi opens in Strasbourg

Strasbourg, June 28 (AzerTAc). “The projects realized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation are praiseworthy from the point of view of promotion of the rich cultural values of Azerbaijan in the world,” said Snejana Samardzic-Markovic, Director General for Democracy of the Council of Europe, at the opening of an exhibition dedicated to the life and works of prominent Azerbaijani poet and thinker Nizami Ganjavi in Strasbourg. Ms. Samardzic-Markovic stressed the importance of the exhibition, hailing it as “a follow-up to the Heydar Aliyev Foundatuion`s important work to promote Azerbaijan`s rich cultural legacy in the world”. Speaking to the opening ceremony, Azerbaijan’s permanent representative to the Council of Europe Emin Eyyubov said exhibitions commemorating Nizami Ganjavi had been held in many cities across France initiated by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. Organized in partnership with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the exhibition takes place at the Council of Europe headquarters under “A Universal Bridge Linking the 12th and 21st centuries: Nizami Ganjavi Creativity (1141 - 1209)” project. Participants in the ceremony included Council of Europe officials, parliamentarians from member states, and members of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE.
