Heydar Aliyev Center hosts “Fashion venue” exhibition

Baku, June 5, AZERTAC The Heydar Aliyev Center has hosted an opening ceremony of the “Fashion venue” exhibition by the Alexandre Vassiliev Foundation. Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva viewed the exhibition. Addressing the ceremony, president of the Alexandre Vassiliev Foundation, collector, fashion historian, art critic Alexandre Vassiliev highlighted the concept of the exhibition. The exhibition features the unity of nature and fashion. The event showcases about 400 samples of clothing and accessories, including shoes, bags, hats and jewelry dating back to the 18th-21st centuries, from the collection of the Alexandre Vassiliev Foundation. The exhibition will run until 2 December. Alexandre Vassiliev is a well-known collector, fashion historian, art critic, interior decorator, theater artist, author of books and articles on this subject, TV host of some TV programs, member of the Russian Academy of Arts, founder of the international interior prize "Lilies of Alexander Vasiliev". His collection consists of more than 50,000 exhibits from the 17th century to the present. The Alexandre Vassiliev Foundation was established in November 2013, in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. Its mission is to preserve the extraordinary collection of is founder, Alexandre Vassiliev, and aim to continue his work. The Alexandre Vassiliev Foundation is a unique institution that aims to project fashion history to the Baltic countries, as well as Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, and Romania.
