INTERNATIONAL ELECTRONIC MUSIC FESTIVAL HELD AT MONGOL SHILTGEEN

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The INTRO annual electronic music festival was held at Mongol Shiltgeen on August 4. Over 20 artist from Mongolia, China, Germany, Lithuania, Japan and France played their sets at the event. Debuted in the year of 2009, Intro has become an annual showcase of the best of China’s thriving electronic music scene and expanded to international stages. INTRO’s motto ‘Ideas Need To Reach Out’ is based on that people need a platform to express their beliefs through means of electronic music. The festival was held for about 12 hours with two stages ‘Main’ and ‘Show’. Foreign artists and some of domestic DJs played their sets at the Main stage while most of the national DJs performed at the Show stage. The event featured 10 internationally renowned DJs including Mickey Zhang, Bloody Mary, Sodeyama, Mantas T, Elvis T, Jon and Miia. In addition, a workshop on electronic music production was organized jointly with the Goethe-Institut Mongolei. Berlin-based vinyl DJ, producer Bloody Mary and Beijing-based DJ Elvis T conducted the workshop, sharing their experiences on music producing, practical tips on using drum machine, modular synthesizer and playing vinyl. INTRO gathered around 3000 electronic music lovers, giving them opportunity to enjoy the performances of worldwide DJs at home country. B.Misheel
