Iran to host 8th Varesh Int’l Filmfest

Tehran, Nov 1, IRNA - The 8th edition of Varesh International Short Film Festival will be hosted by Iran and attended by filmmakers from Caspian coastal states. The international section of the festival is dedicated to the works focusing on shared heritage of Caspian littoral states as well as common religious, cultural, geographical and historical themes, according to Sunday's edition of 'Iran Daily'. The festival is a platform to promote filmmaking on ritual, religious and folklore subjects, commonalities between Iranian ethnic groups and other Caspian littoral states, the shared heritage of these countries and fostering of bilateral and multilateral relations. The deadline for submission of entries is December 6, 2014. The 8th edition of Varesh International Short Film Festival will open on January 5, 2015 in Babol, Mazandaran Province.
