Iran to screen Fredrick Wiseman’s latest documentary

Tehran, Nov 11, IRNA - ‘National Gallery’, the latest work by noted American documentarian Frederick Wiseman will be screened in the Special section of Iran’s 8th Cinéma Vérité Festival. The work was also screened at Cannes Directors' Fortnight. The documentary is about the National Gallery in London, one of the greatest museums of the world which has 2400 paintings from the 13th to the end of the 19th century. Frederick Wiseman is an American filmmaker, documentarian and theatrical director. He received the IDFA Living Legend Award in 2009. Iran’s Cinéma Vérité Festival screens a wide range of productions such as political, historical, ritualistic, religious, social, environmental, scientific, ethnological and war documentaries. Organized by Iran’s Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC), the annual festival aims to depict the relationship between reality and truth. The 2014 Cinema Vérité International Documentary Film Festival is scheduled to be held from November 30 to December 7./end
