Jackie Chan Keen On Love Story Movie In M'sia's Sarawak State

KUCHING (Sarawak, Malaysia), April 13 (Bernama) -- Asia movie megastar Jackie Chan reveals his soft side when he says he will love to do a love story movie in Sarawak (east Malaysia state, one of the two Malaysian states on the island of Borneo). "Sarawak is very beautiful. The river (Sarawak River) is also very beautiful. I would love to do a love story in Sarawak. "I love to produce movie which I love where I can speak what I want to speak and do what I want to do. It is not all about making money," he told a press conference here Saturday. Jackie has long been known to fans for his superb kungfu skill, his funny antics, death defying stunts and also his hard stoic character. He is here to attend the gala night of the second ASEAN International Film Festivals and Awards (Aiffa) at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) here Saturday evening. Meanwhile Jackie, who has just celebrated his 61st birthday early this month, said he had done about four movies in Malaysia. "I have to be very careful when doing movies in Malaysia. When I first did 'SuperCop' I almost destroyed the whole downtown of Kuala Lumpur. "There were the traffic jams daily when people would stop to watch me doing my stunts hanging from a helicopter and flying around in the city," he said in jest. On his recently released 'Dragon Blade' movie, Jackie said he had spent US$60 million to do the film about unity, peace and harmony. "I am its producer and also its ambassador. As producers, directors and movie stars, we all have the same responsibility of making our society, community and the world better, united and peaceful," he said. On his presence at the international event, Jackie said he was here to help support Aiffa. "I am also here at the invitation of the state government," he said, having had to cancel his trip to Dubai and Korea in order to visit the state. While in the state capital, he paid a courtesy call on Sarawak Yang di-Pertua Negeri (the Governor of state) Abdul Taib Mahmud. Sunday Jackie is flying to Shanghai and Beijing for its film festival before heading for Macau, Hongkong, Taiwan and back to Beijing for the film festival's closing. Relating the tight schedules, he said he loved making movies as it would keep him in a place for a while. "If I do not make movie, I will be flying here and there.
