KLEF Calling For Entries From Local, International Film Makers

KUALA LUMPUR, March 27 (Bernama) -- Local and international film makers are welcomed to submit their entries for the annual and international environmental-themed film festival, the Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival (KLEF) this October. Run and organised by a local environmental non governmental organisation (NGO), EcoKnights, KLEF, which is Malaysia's first and longest-running environmental film festival, will take place in Publica Mall, here from Oct 16-18. "Interested film makers and non-film makers that produce environment-themed documentaries, animations, short films, TV documentaries and even public service announcements (PSAa) are welcomed to submit their entries. "There are three platforms for film makers or directors to submit their films; either directly on the KLEF offical website, or through any of its films submission partners such as Fest Home and Film Freeway," EcoKnights said in a statement here Friday. According to the statement, submission dateline is June 30,2015 and all the winners in each category would be rewarded with cash, plague, certificate and hampers. The Best Film (Overall) category will take home a cash prize of RM3,000, Best Short Documentary/TV Documentary (RM1,000), Best Short Film (RM1,000), Special Jury Award (RM1,000), Best Animation (RM1,000) and Best PSA RM500. (US$1=RM3.68) In the last seven years, the festival has reached out to approximately 71,187 Malaysians through its film screenings and programmes at selected venues all over the peninsular. -- BERNAMA
