Lady Gaga performs at Greater Noida at end of Indian Grand Prix, Bollywood in full attendance
New Delhi, Oct 31 (PTI) A host of Indian cine celebrities, including superstar Shahrukh Khan, turned up for American pop sensation Lady Gaga's maiden Indian performance at Greater Noida on the outskirts of Delhi on Sunday on the last day of the exclusive Indian Formula One Grand Prix after-parties.
The Grammy-winning singer, wearing an outfit by Indian designer Tarun Tahiliani, entertained a crowd of 1,000 VVIPs at the Jaypee Integrated Sports Complex Sunday night, tickets for which were priced as high as Rs 40,000 (US$ 800 approx).
Gaga had said earlier that her performance will bear an Indian influence and the guests attending were looking forward to it.
"I met Gaga, she is amazing, so beautiful and honest.... We exchanged a lot of good things about life. I told her that I started listening to her because of my daughter, because she is a huge fan. I am looking forward to her performance," Shahrukh said before attending the party.
Khan, who came in past midnight even though wife Gauri had come a lot earlier, looked dapper in a black suit.
Among the guests were Anil Kapoor and daughter Sonam, Fardeen Khan, Imran Khan, Deepika Padukone, Bipasha Basu, Sanjay Kapoor, Priety Zinta, Sussane Roshan, sisters Riya and Raima Sen and filmmaker Sudhir Mishra.
"I feel so proud that something of this sort has happened in India. The race was fantastic and I really enjoyed myself. I am looking forward to partying now and I am Gaga fan so looking forward to her performance. My favourite track is Judas," said Deepika, who attended the party with Siddharth Mallya.
Imran, who was accompanied by wife Avantika, said, "I am not really a big fan of Gaga, I am just here for my friends and to have a good time." PTI
