Lavach Tanbur Players Ensemble To Stage Concert

Tehran, Aug 27, IRNA - ‘Lavach Tanbur Players Ensemble’ conducted by Heidar Kaki is to hold a concert at Roudaki Hall on September 12. The pieces will be performed in the Kurdish and Persian languages. The ensemble will stage some pieces from ‘Sahargahan’ album composed by Kaki and a number of Ali-Akbar Moradi’s works. The Persian pieces include ‘Nasim’, ‘Bikaran’, ‘Delajooni’, ‘Bidad-o Asheqan’, ‘Sahargahan’ a poems by Baba Taher Oryan Hamadani and Molana Jalaleddin Mohammad Balkhi. The Kurdish works comprises of ‘Gardoon’, ‘Khaneh Miri’ and ‘Asheq’. The musicians include Kaki on tanbur and Shurangiz, Mohsen Nahani on ney, Sirvan Manhouei on oud, Kamran Ahmadi on daf, Farzad Bazgir on tanbur, Sayyad Mohammadi on tanbur, Homayoun Kaki on tonbak and tanbur. The chorus includes Heidar Kaki, Bazgir, Mohammadi, Maryam Shahbazi and Marjan Banaei. Iranian tanbur is mainly designed in Kermanshah, Kurdestan and Lorestan provinces. Tanburs from Kermanshah are more famous and accepted. The tanbur is currently the musical instrument used in Ahl-e Haqq rituals, and practitioners venerate it as a sacred object. Iranian tanbur is associated with the Kurdish Sufi music of western Iran./end
