Night Of Shimmering Lights At M'sia's Royal Palace Of Perlis

ARAU (Perlis, Malaysia), May 23 (Bernama) -- Performances by Uzbekistan singers and dancers will be among the highlights of the 'Night of Shimmering Lights' at Istana Arau (Royal Palace of Perlis) here which will be opened to members of the public on May 22 and 23. The event organised by Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) will feature leading Uzbekistan singers, Ulasheva Mamlakat, 30, Botirova Umida, 28, and Immomaliev Dilshod, 28, entertaining with popular traditional Uzbekistan songs. They will also join artistes of UniMAP Cultural and Recreational Unit on some traditional Malay numbers at the annual programme held in conjunction with the birthday of the King of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Putra Jamalullail. UniMAP vice-chancellor, Prof Dr Kamarudin Hussin said the artistes were famous singers and dancers in their country and they had won several prestigious awards in the Middle East for their albums and performance. -- BERNAMA
