Pirouzfar To Stage ‘Bar Pahneye Darya’

Tehran, Aug 27, IRNA - Iranian movie star, Parsa Pirouzfar, is to stage a play titled ‘Bar Pahneye Darya’ (At Sea) written by Slawomir Mrozek, starting Wednesday, at Iranshahr Hall of the Iranian Artists Forum. In 2001, he staged a play titled ‘Art’ which was well-received by the audience. Since then, he has always said that if ever he finds an opportunity, he will prove himself and have a lot to say in his other works. Pirouzfar has directed two other plays and has also translated the Polish writer’s work. The artists in the play include Siavash Cheraghipour, Houtan Shakiba, Houshang Qavanlou and Ali Abdali. He began his education in painting in 1991 at the University of Tehran Faculty of Fine Arts and simultaneously began acting on stage, in a number of university plays. He worked as a voice over actor from 1993 to 1997.He made his film debut by playing a brief role in Dariush Mehrjui’s ‘Pari’ in 1994. He directed Yasmina Reza’s play ‘Art’ in 2001 and David Mamet’s play ‘Glengarry Glen Ross’ in 2011. He has starred in ‘Here Without Me’ directed by Bahram Tavakoli, ‘Horses Are Noble’ directed by Abdolreza Kahani, ‘The Day Goes and the Night Comes’, ‘Mask’ directed by Kazem Rastgoftar, ‘The Unwanted Woman’ directed by Tahmineh Milani, ‘Mama’s Guest’ directed by Dariush Mehrjui, ‘Tear of the Cold’ directed by Azizollah Hamidnejad, ‘The Walnut Harvest’ directed by Iraj Emami, ‘Sheida’ directed by Kamal Tabrizi and ‘Mercedes’, ‘Banquet’ and ‘Protest’ directed by Masoud Kimiaei./end
